Joshua turns 2

I can't believe it's been two years since he was born. It feels like just the other day we were pacing the hospital waiting for him to arrive. What a joy he is and such a blessing. He has such a little personality and keeps us on our toes. Determined little guy who has advanced quickly and keeps up with his older brothers no matter what!

Slightly red haired as well which shows through every now and again in his temper. He copies everything his older brothers do and has become Nathan's accomplice in all his misadventures. Boy do I have some fun times ahead. Had a teddy bear picnic party for him which was a great success. Now to start planning for Adam and Angie's party.

OCTOBER 2008

My little boy has turned 7!!!! I can't believe it. He's growing so quickly. He also successfully lost his two front teeth this month as well. Nathan is going from strength to strength. He is just so physically capable in everything he does. Josh is becoming a real character with so much personality. He has started school in the mornings now as well which gives me time to do my admin etc. Damien has started casting a leg for his first patient. It's a freebee but good for him to get some practice in again and keep his skills going. The B&B continues to grow but this month (Nov) is going to be a bit slow - seems the econimic pinch is effecting all travel in the country. I will continue to trust in God he has really pulled us through thus far.

September 2008

It's been ages again and I don't have any real excuse other than to say I'm just so busy at the moment. Life is passing by in a blur of kids lunches, baths, guests, bills etc The B&B is slowly starting to really take off. It's still not making a profit yet but that's to be expected. We are full quite a bit and I truly thank the lord for constantly providing. The boys are absolutely thriving over here. I know I've said it a hundred times over but we are LOVING being back in Africa. Damien is starting to get his workshop sorted and he is very eager to start his practice. Some pics from over the past few months.

9 Years, 3 Kids and two Countries Later

Well on the 20th March we made it to our 9 year wedding anniversary. I spent some time today thinking back over the years and all that it's entailed. We really have crammed so much in such a short space of time. Makes me wonder if it's time to slow down a bit and just 'smell the roses' as the saying goes.

I admire Damien for putting up with all my nonsense over the last 9 years. Phew he really has had the patience of a saint. There have certainly been some really good times and some really trying times too. I wouldn't change it for anything.

Two months in

Phew have we had a busy two months. We've had to move house, unpack tons of boxes, enroll kids into school, set up a b&b (completely refurbish), start new jobs and amidst all of this deal with three sick kids. Shame my poor boys have been hit with gastro twice each and they've been really rather ill. Still we've managed. I've put up some pictures of one of the rooms, they are starting to get there and really starting to look good.

We still miss the UK but with each passing day we are getting more and more used to being back in SA. The heat has been unbelievable. We've really struggled with the humidity. I actually (dare I say it) found myself wishing it was cold the other day.

It's been absolute ages since I last updated my blog. Life for us has been truly hectic. We've moved country, I've had a major operation, we've moved into our house, kids have started new schools and Damien has started a new job. I'm trying to get my bed and breakfast off the ground and Joshua has been teething! It's been great being back home. The boys are absolutely loving the outdoor life. Dominic is so happy to be with Adam. I'm loving spending time with the twins. We do miss the UK though... The cost of living over here is hectic, London prices but minus the London salary. I need to get some more money coming so we can make this whole venture work. Here are pictures of the boys over Christmas and some pics at my brothers wedding.

STRESSSSSSSS

Well we are a couple days away from all our household contents being shipped back to SA. The stress levels are high. Three boys add to all the fun! There was one good thing that happened though...

Last weekend Damien surprised me with a trip to Rome. Dominic and Nathan spent the weekend with Andrew and Mel and we took Joshua with us. Cuan and Chantel came with as well. We had a fabulous time and were really taken with the whole city. A really nice getaway during a very stressful period.
